MESSAGE DU DIRECTEUR
On behalf of Concordia University's Institute for Co-operative Education, including our students, Faculty, staff, and Senior Management, I would like to extend you a very warm welcome to our 11th year annual Co-op Awards of Recognition and Student Showcase. This is our opportunity to pause and reflect on our many student accomplishments. We take this opportunity to sincerely thank our employer partners, and everyone involved who provides such a strong contribution to our program’s success. This year, we are thrilled to be able to distribute close to $9000 in financial awards to our students. To our employer sponsors, we extend a very special word of gratitude for your generous financial contribution. Our Concordia Co-op program has existed for some 34 years and with the support of our Concordia Executive, we are strategically placed to continue to expand our programs and the many benefits that our Co-op students and employers enjoy. A special highlight of our evening will be to showcase 30 of our Co-op students who will proudly stand beside their posters, demonstrating their various experiences and the benefits received. You will no doubt recognize their gratitude, as well as their level of satisfaction for these valuable learning opportunities. This evening allows us to express our sincere appreciation to our many valued employer partners. We are proud to mention that we deal with such a diversified variety of organizations whose valuable support and contributions are greatly appreciated. Our Co-op team is dedicated and professional and strives to work closely with our students and employers. Antonin Picou
Patrick Bonneau, CPA, CGA
Antonin Picou is a 4th year Industrial Engineering Student at Concordia University. He completed two back to back work terms at Deloitte LLP from January to August 2013 and is currently completing his final work term as an Intern in Continuous Improvement at Bombardier Inc. At Deloitte, he performed above and beyond what was expected of him as a Co-op student by taking on a major role in a multimillion-dollar mandate. Born in Washington D.C. of French decent, Antonin hopes to pursue a career in consulting in order to keep up the fast-paced life he lives. In parallel to fulfilling the requirements of the Co-op program, Antonin takes pride in balancing academia, and giving back to the community; an activity he finds necessary for a well-balanced career. In fact, during the previous academic year, he was the President of the Engineering and Computer Science Association of Concordia University, a role that allowed him to contribute to the experiences of his fellow students.
Partner, Tax, Deloitte Patrick Bonneau is a Tax partner at Deloitte and is part of the Global Employer Services in the Montreal office. Patrick joined Deloitte as senior manager in 2010. He has 17 years of experience in providing tax services to corporations and employees in connection with their international assignments. He has a strong compliance and planning background with respect to cross border taxation issues for individuals. Before joining Deloitte, Patrick also worked for seven years at SNC-Lavalin, leading the mobility team. Patrick also presented at various conferences regarding the tax and payroll consequences associated with international assignments, including l’Association de Planification Fiscale et Financière (APFF) and the Canadian payroll association (CPA). Patrick is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA), the Certified General Accountant (CGA), the APFF and holds a Bachelor degree of Business Administration.

Award SculptureS . Les trophées Title . Titre: Key Moment – Moment fort Design . Conception: Tatev Yesayan Employers’ Choice Award - Choix de l’employeur
Title . Titre: Feathers – Les plumes Design . Conception: Rachel Tradif Coops’ Choice Award – Choix du personnel coop
The trophy represents the movement of two ends reaching out to one another and creating something of unexpected quality. It is the coming together of intention and skill, and is a testimony to the hard work that is put into bringing them together. It is also a demonstration of the inherent richn¬ess of collaboration that can shine through at key moments of the process.
A feather encompasses both lightness and strength. Here, two feathers are moving with the wind, ready to take off. The base unites the feathers to a same departure point. Despite the fragile and delicate qualities of their shape, the feathers stand in unity with one another.
Title . Titre: The Hour Glass – Le sablier Design . Conception: Raine Shen Students’ Choice Award – Choix des étudiants Shaped like an hour glass, this trophy represents the precious and valuable time people share together. Symmetry is very important to the hour glass design. The trophy has twists that mirror each other reflectively. The fluid curve that outlines the hourglass is organic, and the “apple” inside the structure is a precious object that symbolizes achievement.

Title . Titre: The Work of a Stinger – Le labeur de l’abeille Design .Conception: Alexander Scodras Student of the Year Award – L’étudiant coop de l’année The trophy is constructed with spherical and geometrical shapes, along with repetition and symmetry in mind, to create a balance of arrangements. The beehive represents the balance between hard work and dedication. As such it embodies the school's spirit of achievement. The Stinger on top of the beehive depicts a "never quit until the job is done right" attitude.
